It took a while for my brain to boot up this morning. It probably had something to do with the neighbors beginning their fireworks celebrations early.
I scrolled idly through Facebook while I ate breakfast and saw the following advertisement:

I blinked. What is that? Large wooden lobster claws? I guess you hold the rounded end and they maybe swing and the claws clack together. But why? Lobster festivals? Zoidberg cosplay? People sure do make and market weird stuff on Facebook.
They’re shoe inserts.
Hope your Friday makes more sense than mine! Or at least, if it doesn’t make sense, it’s the fun kind of nonsense!
Looked like lobster claws to me! ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Glad I’m not the only one!
Shoe stretchers used to be very common. Some people owned multiple pairs to keep shoes from losing shape. As I recall, my parents used them especially if 1) the shoes got wet and 2) with shoes only worn occasionally (dress shoes).
I’m familiar with shoe stretchers, I just apparently don’t keep them as “top of mind” as imaginary lobster claws ๐
Addendum: real leather shoes
What?? Who is the target audience for these? ๐
The shoe stretchers or the lobster claws? ๐
Honestly, I’m talking about most things on the FB market ๐๐
Ainโt that the truth! ๐
